LED Feeder

It’s not only been since the EU decision to get rid of classical light bulbs that lighting with LEDs has been in fashion. Small dimensions and high degrees of efficiency of LEDs offer diverse fields of application. This goes for both SMT LEDs and the classical THT LEDs.

Special tools for SMD LEDs

Standard LEDS in the sizes 1206, 0805 or 0603 can be easily and safely assembled with the assembly tools of a serial machine.

However, light-emitting diodes are being applied more often, which require special handling during assembly. For example, PowerLEDs or LEDS with special lenses cannot be carried with a simple vacuum pipette because otherwise, the lens would be scratched. For this purpose, FRITSCH offers special assembly tools that have been adapted to the requirements of the LEDs. The large pool of pipettes can be enlarged by special tools at any time.

Feeder for THT LEDs

THT LEDs will still be used due to the cost situation or for reasons of construction, for example.

There are feeders for assembling THT LEDS available for all machines of the placeALL series. These feeders feed the LEDs from standard belts, cut off the little wires and put the LEDs in the right position for assembly. The height the little wires are cut off can be set by means of corresponding adapters to any length.

LED feeder in OEM version

The feeders have been constructed in such a way making it easy to integrate them in other machines or tailor-made solutions.

There are variations for being controlled by a CAN bus, an RS485 interface as well as by a simple feed signal. Should even this not be sufficient, the feeder can also be supplied as a stand-alone version. Here, a feed is carried out automatically after the light-emitting diode has been removed. In this case, an electrical coupling of the feed signal is no longer necessary. By means of the integrated sensors, the feeder itself monitors both the longitudinal and cross axis of an LED and automatically supplies the next light-emitting diode.
